American Express is constantly innovating on the product proposition of the American Express Platinum Card. Over the course of the year, they are bringing many changes to the card product, only for the better. Now, another new one pops up, albeit initially for a limited period, which is Amex Meet and Greet Service.

Amex Meet and Greet service launched for travel from Delhi airport

American Express is now offering Meet and Greet service for domestic trips out of Delhi Airport to customers who book their journey with American Express Platinum Travel Services. As part of the new offer, Amex Platinum is offering one Meet and Greet per quarter to a cardmember (primary) plus up to three people.

Meat and Greet service includes:

  • Meet with the Cardmember on arrival at the Passenger Drop Off Zone with the Baggage Porter at the Gate.
  • Bear an American Express branded insignia with the cardmember’s name
  • Coordinate with airline for wheelchairs if necessary
  • Complete all check-in procedures subject to airline and security regulations
  • Provide the cardmember with the buggy from security to the boarding gate
  • Go to the escort card member lounge and make sure they are comfortable.
  • Meet with the Cardmember in the lounge when it is time to go to the boarding gate and escort (arrange first or last boarding as needed)
  • Help with boarding, avoid all the queues at the boarding gate
  • Be on standby until the Cardmember boards the flight.
  • Help with hand luggage from the arrivals gate to the boarding gate

While Citibank had such a service for their Prestige cardmembers in the APAC region, it was withdrawn as the card fell out of favor. Allways, a part of the Plaza Premium group, will handle Amex’s services.

For now, it looks like American Express is building expertise on this product, so it’s only being offered for the period until February 2022, and a Platinum cardmember can only avail it once per quarter . This is similar to the Meet & Assist service already offered to Centurion Cardmembers globally and is only valid when tickets are booked through American Express Platinum Travel Services.

Any service chargeable to an additional person over and above 4, and children of age two or more will be counted as one person.

Cardholders are required to access Platinum Travel & Lifestyle Services for booking the service at least 48 hours prior to travel.

American Express has achieved yet another milestone with the launch of this new service, even though it currently operates only at the Delhi airport. At present, only Axis Bank offers such meet and greet services to some of its high-end cardholders, apart from American Express.

What do you think of this new Meet and Greet service provided by Amex? Do you find it useful?
