HDFC Bank relaunched 3 of its existing entry-level credit cards on 19 September 2021. Here’s everything you need to know about what has changed and what to expect in the coming month.

- here is Detailed Comparison of New and Existing Millennia Credit Cards
Ideally this update has removed the various tricky T&Cs that we talked about in the beginning about the HDFC Millennia Credit Card.
Overall, the HDFC Millennia Credit Card definitely enjoys a pretty decent size now, which is enough to compete with other issuers. Ideally you can save around 2% on expenses, provided you spend ~1L per qtr.
Relaunched: Other Entry Level Cards
Along with Millenia, HDFC Bank has also refreshed other entry-level credit card features like
- independence
- Moneyback + Credit Card.
I’ll wait to see the full list of updated features and benefits before commenting on them. You can check out the update here as per the press release.
There’s nothing special to expect in this segment anyway, so pass it on.
Next: Other Card Launch/Relaunch
Most likely we can expect other premium/super premium credit cards to refresh as well, probably at least.
However, one of the biggest hopes of yesterday’s press meet was the launch of the new Super/Ultra Premium Metal Card. But to the dismay of everyone it has been postponed due to unknown reasons.
It’s like Apple is promising a new iPhone 13 and starting the event with figures and figures of iPhone sales volume, then relaunching the iPhone SE and that’s it.
disappoint!
Anyway, we’ve already seen some of the changes go live (and have since reverted) for obvious reasons so it’s definitely coming within a month – various readers say it’s on October 5th and October 31st. Can go live anywhere in between. Information from various sources.
Although we don’t know if it’s going to be a new card with a new name and a metal version (or) both with the Infinia re-launch (or) the benefits. We will have to wait and see.
I think HDFC will definitely strengthen the existing cards and we may or may not see a card with a new name.
Not only this, all these re-launches are in favor of the customers and I expect this to continue for the upcoming launches and re-launches of premium and super premium cards as well.
